HE SPOKE NOT A WORD

Sometimes in life we are challenged in ways that are very painful and make us want to run away. But Jesus always gives us the answers in His word for everything we are going through and facing in life.

Jesus was talking to His disciples in Matthew 5:42 about loving those who are not always lovable. Here in this set of verses Jesus is telling his disciples that people believe an eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth, but he goes on to say, do not resist these people. If anyone slaps you on the cheek turn to them the other cheek also. Give to the one who asks you and do not turn away from the one who wants to borrow from you. Sometimes in life, it is very hard to respond like Jesus wants us to respond because our flesh rises up and we feel taken advantage of and sometimes the hurt becomes more than we want to bare. Remember Jesus was beaten to the point of being unrecognizable as a man, but he did not speak a word. (Isaiah 52:14) (Acts 8:32). He was beaten for our transgressions, and bruised for our iniquities, and the chastisement of our peace was upon him……… But he spoke not a word. (Isaiah 53:5).

Let us rise above and trust in our God to guide our hearts, as the pain wants to take control. Let us also, get to the place in our Holy walk with God where we too can say, I spoke not a word!

Let us all work on developing great character of heart and follow the example of Jesus : HE SPOKE NOT A WORD.

Think on these things
