Sometimes trusting in God when things get hard can really challenge our faith!
If God tells us to trust him with ALL OF OUR HEARTS then we must put aside our own thinking and focus on God’s word to keep our faith strong. The Bible tells us that we must lean not on our own understanding and in EVERY WAY, submit to the Lord and he will make our paths straight, Proverbs 3:5-6.
The Bible speaks about the heart and what the Lord means when he says to give him ALL OF YOUR HEART. Let me use God for an example.
God is one but he is also three. He is spirit soul and body and father son and holy spirit. But Jesus says that the father and I are one and the Holy Spirit says, I will do ONLY what I hear the father tell me. I am in the father and the father is in me. They are three but one. The son loves only the father and the father loves only the son.
If we are to love then we must be in God and he in us. This true love. Our hearts in love with no other. Everything inside of us must be united with the head. Our heart, our soul and our mind. If the Holy Spirit does ONLY what he hears the father say then that is true devotion and love. His heart is not divided on other things. He is in love with only the father. We too can only have one master. Our hearts MUST BE ONE! We cannot be divided in thought. We must love only 1, be devoted to only one, our thoughts focused on only one master, in only one direction!
Mark 12:29-31 – ‘Hear, O Israel! The Lord our God is one Lord; and you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind, and with all your strength.’
When we give everything to this love of our God, then double-mindedness has no room to cause doubt and unbelief.
God is three and so are you and I. We are made up of the body, the soul and the mind.
Give all of your heart to the love of the father and you will find your heart is in peace while you wait patiently on the Lord for his answers during your hard times.
Our God loves us so much.
