As you are driving along at night, looking for your destination, your vehicle climbs the nearby hill and as you reach the top, the lights of the city shine brightly telling you that you are near to arrive at your location. The lights of the city draw your attention to the nearby places to eat and sleep as they flash on their neon signs, welcoming all guests. People’s homes become visible as the lights on their porches welcome friends and family home for the holidays.
Soon you arrive in the big city and there are lights everywhere welcoming you into restaurants and businesses and places of fellowship.
Jesus tells us that we are the light of the world. We are a city that is set on a hill and it CANNOT be hidden. He is telling us that if you truly have him (Jesus Christ) in your hearts, then the light will be in you and it will be IMPOSSIBLE to hide it! How can you hide the light from the darkness? Light does not run away when darkness appears, on the contrary, darkness runs away and cannot be found when the light appears.
People of God, in the same way, this great light which appeared to all men, now lives in you and me! Nor can we light a lamp and hide it under a basket, but it must be put on a lampstand, so it gives light to all who are in the house. Matthew 5:14-15 NKJV.
Jesus said in Mathew 5:16;
In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven. Wow, God wants us all to make a difference in the cities, towns, villages and families where he has planted us!

So let me encourage you to LET YOUR LIGHT SHINE, so the Father receives his glory and the darkness has no place to hide. Start today to take your stand for Holiness and let everyone know all around you that Jesus is the light of your heart!!
